I am a professor of computer science at the University of San Francisco. I primarily teach software development and distributed computing and my current research focuses on energy management in green homes. I collaborate with Nilanjan Banerjee at the University of Maryland to develop system support for homes powered by renewable sources. I am also on the editorial board of Sigmobile's GetMobile magazine and the board of Networking Networking Women (N2Women). I am passionate about broadening participation in computing. I received my PhD from UC Santa Barbara where I worked with Kevin Almeroth in the Networking and Multimedia Systems Lab. I also spent summers at IBM Research under the guidance of Neel Sundaresan, and HP Labs under the guidance of Dejan Milojicic.
